The Urban Clinic of Atlanta (UCA) is a free, nonprofit clinic dedicated to providing high-quality primary care to uninsured and medically underserved adults. Established in 2016 by Susan Whatley, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, UCA has grown from a small volunteer initiative into a nurse-managed clinic with 15+ employees and more than 45 active volunteers.
In December 2025, Good Shepherd Clinic (GSC) in Morrow merged with UCA. The legacy, mission, and programming of GSC continue uninterrupted under The Urban Clinic of Atlanta. With this newly merged organization, UCA now operates two clinic locations (Fulton and Clayton counties), significantly expanding access to compassionate, high-quality care across metro Atlanta.
Since opening our doors, UCA has improved the health and well-being of more than 3,000 patients.
We provide free, comprehensive services including:
- Routine primary care
- Chronic disease management
- Preventive cancer screenings
- Laboratory services
- Mental health support
- Mobile dental clinics
- Access to medications
- Referrals for radiology, vision services, and specialty care
Our services are designed for adults (18+) who are uninsured and living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Your generosity saves lives. Thank you for investing in our mission and helping us deliver compassionate, life-changing care to our community.
